As a SAAFE Scholar, your professional development is central to your journey and is tailored specifically to your goals. Examples of the types of opportunities SAAFE provides to their Scholars are listed below.

SAAFE Journal Club

An opportunity for Scholars to convene and critically review the latest AMR research. Scholars take turns in chairing the session to expand on translational skills for career success beyond their studies. Such skills include: meeting planning, agenda setting, minutes taking, creation and progress tracking of action items, time management, communication and public speaking, AI support for collaborative events and acknowledgement of country.

SAAFE Industry Internships

Each Scholar is provided the opportunity to undertake an internship with either the industry partner on their project or a suitable alternative. Each internship is created collaboratively with the industry and Scholar to ensure project outcomes are realised and opportunities for professional development and resaearch impact are leveraged.

SAAFE Annual Events

SAAFE holds an annual event where Scholars are invited to present their research projects and network with the wider SAAFE community. Additional professional development opportunities are provided to the Scholars in the form of training sessions, site visits and collaborative workshops.
