ECR researchers were invited to register to take part in the EDAR8 ECR program. This opportunity has now closed.

Make the most of your EDAR8 experience through a dedicated program designed to connect, support and celebrate Early Career Researchers (ECR). From networking opportunities and mentoring connections to professional development activities and research recognition, the ECR Program offers a range of events to help you grow your network, build new skills and engage with the global AMR community.

ECR: Student or Graduate Researcher < 5 years post-PhD.

ECR NETWORKING BREAKFAST (For ECRs only, tickets below)
Monday 3 August | 7:30am arrival – 9:30am

Start your EDAR8 experience by connecting with fellow Early Career Researchers from around the world at our ECR Networking Breakfast.

Hosted by the SAAFE CRC Early Career Researcher Program Team, this informal breakfast provides the perfect opportunity to meet other ECR delegates, make new connections and break the ice before the conference officially begins. Whether you're attending EDAR for the first time or reconnecting with colleagues, this event will help you build relationships from day one. A range of dietary requirements will be catered for.

The breakfast will be held at Rydges South Bank, Level 12, conveniently located next to the EDAR8 venue at Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre (BCEC).

This event is complimentary for delegates who joined the ECR Program during conference registration. A ticket is required to attend, and places are limited.*

ECR SOCIAL EVENING (For ECRs only, tickets below)
Wednesday 5 August | Southbank Beer Garden | 6:00pm–10:00pm

Join your fellow ECR delegates for a relaxed evening at the Southbank Beer Garden, overlooking the Brisbane River.

This social event provides an opportunity to unwind after a day of conference sessions while building new connections with the ECR community. Enjoy light-hearted mini-games and informal networking in a welcoming and friendly atmosphere. Food will be provided, with catering available for a variety of dietary requirements.

OTHER ECR PROGRAMME OPPORTUNITIES

ECR BUDDY PROGRAM

Nominations to join the buddy program have now closed.

The ECR Buddy Program provides an opportunity for Early Career Researchers to be paired with an established leader in the AMR field whose expertise aligns with their interests and career goals. Buddies may include researchers, industry professionals, policy makers or government representatives. Participants will be introduced during the registration session on Monday morning and encouraged to connect throughout the conference week, creating valuable opportunities for discussion, networking and professional development.



ECR CAREER & NETWORK DEVELOPMENT WORKSHOP - OPEN TO ALL ECRs

Friday 7 August | Session 5.3B | 1:30pm-5:30pm*

Conclude your EDAR8 experience with a dedicated workshop focused on career development, reflection and building meaningful professional relationships.

Career Pathways Panel: Hear from professionals working across academia, government and industry as they share insights into their career journeys, challenges, opportunities and advice for emerging researchers.

Personal Network Mapping: Reflect on the connections you've built throughout the conference and explore how your professional network supports your career development. This interactive session will help participants identify valuable existing relationships; recognise new connections formed during EDAR8; and consider opportunities for future collaboration.
