To celebrate the breadth of talent across the EDAR community, two awards will be presented:

• EDAR8 Research Excellence Award – Presented to a SAAFE CRC Early Career Researcher
• EDAR8 Research Excellence Award – Presented to an Early Career Researcher

Each award includes a $250 AUD prize in recognition of outstanding achievement.

ASSESSMENT CRITERIA

Nominees will be assessed holistically across five key areas:

• Research Excellence – Quality, rigour and significance of the research
• Innovation – Originality, creativity and novel approaches that advance research or address complex challenges
• Impact – Scientific, environmental, societal, policy or economic benefit
• Communication – Ability to communicate research effectively to scientific, industry, government and community audiences

SELECTION PROCESS

All eligible ECR posters will be assessed by the judging panel during their scheduled poster presentation session on 3 or 6 August. Presenters will be invited to give a brief pitch (up to three minutes) about their research and respond to questions from the judges.

Posters will be assessed against the award criteria, with consideration given to the quality, significance and breadth of the research, as well as the presenter's contributions relative to their career stage.

Award recipients will be announced during the EDAR8 Closing Ceremony.
